Painting, Sculpture and Furniture restoration. Italian Language and literature. Artisans' Tour. Culinary Arts. Typical Sienese food
The holiday farmhouse is on a hilitop some 5 km from the medieval city of Siena, with a panoramic view over the rolling Tuscan countryside. It is immersed in the classic Sienese landscape with all its distinctive characteristics: the vinew, the olive groves and the cypresses, and the patchwork of cultivated fields of corn and brillant sunflowers that carpet the clay slopes, tamed and tended by centuries of peasant wisdom. The sweeping vista includes the towers of Siena on one side, and, on another, the deep shady woods which contain a variety of oak trees, and which hide the ancient remains of medieval fortifications. In the distance, cows graze serenely in green pastures. Guests Guests will have the opportunity of country walks along paths redolent of aromatic herbs - or by the river-bank where picnics can be enyoyed. A twenty-minute drive will get you to the natural, open-air thermal baths at Petriolo, whose sulphurous waters have been renowned since the Middle Ages for their curative properties.
