Cascina is located in the Arno River, close to Pisa and it is an ancient roman colony, became a big agricultural village in the Middle Ages. The most important medioeval monuments are: the parish church dedicated to S. Maria, the most ancient one of the territory of Cascina; the Baptistry and the bellfry, transformation of the ancient Rocca; the Oratory S. Giovanni, with decoration depicting the Old Testament; the municipal tower, with the clock, coat of arms of Cascina; the city wall.
